I thought I would try growing garlic and shallots this year. I decided to do so, while browsing my local garden center in April and seeing the garlic and shallot sets on display. What you see in the photo is the result. I harvested these on August 15, so they were in the ground about 4 months. Some of the shallots and garlic were very small. This year I’m going to plant them in October. This will add about 6 more months of growing time. I will be slow growth because of the cold, but hopefully i’ll get more larger bulbs.
